As someone who had the chance to mix and master the entire project, I won’t say much yet—but I will say this: the wait is worth it. Max is delivering something that feels raw and real.
And around the same time, he’s also directing the newly released documentary Diamonds in the Dirt 2—a film that tells the story of Baton Rouge rap music’s legacy through the voices of its most iconic figures. With appearances by Kevin Gates, Boosie BadAzz, Webbie, Foxx, and Nussie, this film continues the story of Baton Rouge’s most successful rap artists, their struggle, and their survival in one of America’s deadliest cities.
Max Minelli’s new album might not be an official soundtrack, but it feels like the next chapter in that story. The energy, the timing, the history—it all lines up. If you love Louisiana hip hop, this is the moment to lock in.
