A Playlist of Music That Helped Me Create “All Away”

There are songs you write—and then there are songs that write you.

“All Away” wasn’t supposed to be mine. It started as a collab. Another artist sent me the beat, told me to record a verse... then disappeared. I held onto my part for almost a year. During that time, I lost my grandfather, watched my mental health spiral, and felt like I was drifting through life—quiet, detached, overstimulated, and emotionally numb.

Eventually, I pulled that session back up and finished the track on my own. That decision became “All Away”.

The Sound of Something Real

All Away is slow, minimal, and emotional. It’s built on a mournful piano melody, a deep bassline, and a subtle drum pattern that lets everything breathe. The vocals float between spoken word and melodic phrasing—like a voice note to yourself when you’re too tired to cry.

The structure is open, almost dreamlike. There’s a recurring piano loop that feels like a memory you can’t shake. The production is clean and moody, using just enough reverb and space to capture that late-night emotional fog.

So I Made a Playlist

While finishing All Away, I found myself looping certain songs on Spotify—music that helped me sit with the pain and not run from it. Some were songs I’ve always loved. Others found me at the right time. Together, they created a mood board of what I was feeling while creating this song.
